Circular Quay, Ship Inn

The Ship Inn is located on the corner of Pitt Street and Alfred Street at Circular Quay. This heritage listed hotel was designed in the Federation Free Classical style and built in 1902. It has been incorporated into the Gateway office building behind it.

  1. Very unusual structure with the overhang. I do like the curvy look of it, however.

  2. The upper levels are wonderful. Quite a contrast with the rather plain lower level.

  6. What an interesting building. I wonder why the first level is so different, as if the building was moved and placed on top of an existing structure. I am glad it's on the heritage list. It should be preserved.
