This monument is located at the entrance of the brickpit ring walkway, which stands above a pond, in the western suburb of Homebush Bay. The gears have been salvaged from machinery in the old brickworks here,near Sydney Olympic Park.
I love shooting old bits and pieces of machinery and things like nuts and blots...I call them “shooting the mundane.” This is a classic that a really, really like. It is my kind of picture. Love all of that rust and age is wears so beautifully. A great capture of a real treasure.
I love gears, actually once having a job purchasing them. I love these old bronze or brass spur gears - I imagine that they were used in heavy machinery way back when. Very cool metalwork sculpture!
